UNFEST’26: Where Art and Technology Meet Through Immersive Production Design

15 September 2026

Technology doesn’t replace art.
It expands what art can become.

Held from 11–13 September 2026 at Cloud 11 Bangkok, UNFEST’26 brought together artists, designers, creators, and technology enthusiasts to exchange ideas and explore new creative experiences under the concepts of Real-Time Technology and Immersive Production Design.

The event featured a wide range of works combining artistic expression with emerging technology. The UNDEMO zone offered visitors an opportunity to observe, discuss, and experience the creative process up close.

Goldenduck supported a Projection Mapping installation using projectors from Appotronics. Visuals, light, colour, and movement were carefully aligned with the physical form and surface of the artwork, transforming a static object into an immersive storytelling experience.

Behind the Creative Process with Appotronics AIMapper

One of the key technologies behind the installation was Appotronics AIMapper, which uses AI to support the Projection Mapping workflow—from scanning the physical artwork and creating its digital model to positioning and aligning content with the actual surface.

The system also supported the Blending and Stacking processes, making it easier to map content accurately onto detailed or complex forms. As a result, the projected visuals could move naturally across the structure and contours of the artwork.

The combination of Appotronics projectors and AIMapper demonstrated how projection technology can move beyond conventional screens and flat surfaces. It can be applied to artworks, three-dimensional objects, and physical environments to create new forms of visual expression.

Technology as a Tool for Artists

AI and technology are not intended to replace the ideas or skills of artists. Instead, they help reduce technical complexity, improve accuracy, and give creators greater freedom to experiment with new concepts.

By simplifying parts of the technical process, artists and designers can focus more fully on storytelling, emotion, and the experience they want to share with their audience.

Throughout the event, visitors joined us to discuss, exchange ideas, and experience AI Mapping firsthand. The space was filled with questions and conversations among people from different creative and professional backgrounds, reflecting the growing interest in connecting art with technology.

Goldenduck would like to thank the organisers, artists, production teams, and everyone who joined us at UNFEST’26. Your participation helped make the event a meaningful space for learning, experimentation, and inspiration—and gave us the opportunity to explore new possibilities for art through technology.
