หลายคนคงจะได้ยินชื่อระบบเสียง Dolby Atmos มานานแล้วว่าแต่จริงๆ แล้วมันคืออะไรกันแน่ Dolby Atmos คือระบบรอบทิศทางแบบหนึ่ง แต่ไหนแต่ไรมา เรามักจะคุ้นเคยกับคำว่า Stereo, 5.1 หรือ 7.1 กัน ซึ่งเป็นชื่อเรียกระบบเสียงรอบทิศทางที่มีการแบ่งช่องทางของแหล่งกำเนิดเสียงกระจายตามตำแหน่งๆ ต่างรอบตัวเรานั่นเอง Dolby Atmos ก็คล้ายกัน แต่จะเพิ่มทิศทางด้านบนเข้าไปด้วย เราจึงเรียกว่าเป็นเสียงรอบทิศทางแบบ Immersive เราอาจจะสรุปสั้นๆ ได้ว่า นี่คือขั้นสุดของระบบเสียงรอบทิศทาง ที่สามารถเพิ่มแหล่งกำเนิดเสียงให้เคลื่อนไหวไปในทิศทางต่างๆ รอบตัวเราแบบ 360 องศาได้อย่างอิสระเลยทีเดียว Dolby Atmos ถือกำเนิดขึ้นในปี 2012 แรกเริ่มเดิมทีการที่เราจะสัมผัสประสบการณ์ Atmos ได้นั้น เราจะต้องไปที่โรงภาพยนตร์ที่ฉายภาพยนตร์ที่เป็นเสียง Dolby Atmos ในโรงที่ออกแบบมาให้รองรับระบบเสียงนี้เป็นหลัก แต่ปัจจุบันนี้ Dolby Atmos ยังมีอยู่ในคอนเทนต์ต่างๆ อีกมากมายนอกจากภาพยนตร์ฟอร์มยักษ์จากสตูดิโอค่ายดังๆ ทั้งหลายแล้ว ภาพยนตร์ที่เป็น animation หรือ series ที่ลงในบรรดา streaming ค่ายใหญ่ๆ อย่าง…
